Song Nian-yu discusses new album and upcoming Taipei concert

Singer-songwriter Song Nian-yu recently appeared on Hit Fm’s ‘Night Cat DJ’ Dennis program to discuss his new album, ‘I Thought You Were Still Here,’ and his upcoming concert.

During the interview, Song joked that if his concert tickets do not sell out instantly, he might cancel the show, though he quickly clarified he was kidding. He revealed that preparations for his ‘No, Perfect Person’ concert, scheduled for November 7 at the Taipei Music Center, are approximately 70% to 80% complete. The setlist is largely finalized, and the performance is expected to feature collaboration styles that fans have not seen from him before.

Regarding his musical approach, Song noted a shift in his production style for the new album. Rather than focusing on precise technical perfection, he prioritized capturing the raw emotions and natural breathing of the recording moment. He also mentioned that the new album will not be released on traditional CDs, opting instead for a commemorative vinyl format. When asked if he would perform as a drummer during the concert, Song declined to give a definitive answer, stating that fans would have to attend to find out.
