Song Young-gil interrupts live radio interview to dine with President

South Korean lawmaker Song Young-gil caused controversy after abruptly ending a live radio interview on CBS Radio ‘Park Jae-hong’s Hanpanseung’ after only eight minutes. Song claimed he believed the interview was scheduled for only ten minutes and stated he could not continue because he was dining with President Lee Jae-myung at Okryeon Market in his constituency.

The host, Park Jae-hong, disputed the duration and expressed frustration, noting that the sudden interruption was disrespectful to listeners. While Song apologized and explained he was unaware of the President’s sudden visit to the market, the production team issued a statement expressing “strong regret” over the unilateral termination of the broadcast.

The production team clarified that the interview was originally scheduled for approximately 25 minutes. To fill the resulting airtime gap, the station had to urgently reconnect with former Reform Party Supreme Council member Kim Jeong-cheol.
