Songdo Bio-process Training Center begins full operations

The Bio-process Training Center in Songdo, Incheon, has commenced full operations, aiming to strengthen the regional biopharmaceutical industry by cultivating specialized professional talent. Located at the Yonsei University International Campus, the center provides theory and practical training at Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

Since beginning full operations in March, the center has trained a total of 2,528 individuals through the Yonsei University K-NIBRT program, with 555 participants specifically utilizing the center's practical training facilities. The project involved a total investment of 42 billion KRW, combining national and municipal funds.

The initiative seeks to create a virtuous cycle within the Songdo Bio Cluster, which already hosts global leaders such as Samsung Biologics and Celltrion, alongside specialized facilities like Cytiva’s Fast Track Center. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority plans to expand cooperation between educational institutions and corporations to ensure the workforce meets real-world industrial demands.
