Songkhla prepares for first mobile Cabinet meeting of 2026

Songkhla province is prepared to host the first mobile Cabinet meeting of the 2026 fiscal year, scheduled for August 31 to September 1, 2026. Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploytalay Lakmisaengchan stated that the province has arranged logistics, security, exhibitions, and budget management to ensure the meeting's efficiency.

As part of the cultural promotion, the Cabinet will wear the ‘Ratchawat’ pattern, a hand-woven fabric featuring small floral designs historically known as ‘Kan Yaeng’ or ‘Khon Nok Khao’. The pattern was renamed ‘Ratchawat’ by King Chulalongkorn after he was presented with a high-quality hand-woven cloth during his visit to Songkhla in 1900.

For evening activities on August 31, ministers will wear ‘Buppha Borommarachininat’ batik, a pattern developed by Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana to honor Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Additionally, banana fiber bags from the ‘Kortani’ OTOP group in Hat Yai district will be provided as souvenirs to support local handicrafts.
