Italian presenter and entrepreneur Sonia Bruganelli has publicly responded to online harassment and bodyshaming directed at her physical appearance. The controversy intensified after users left derogatory comments on her cultural platform, ‘I Libri di Sonia’, which focuses on authors and literature.

Bruganelli addressed the comments via social media, expressing frustration that personal insults regarding her teeth, mouth, and aging were being directed at a space dedicated to books. She responded with irony, preemptively listing common criticisms she receives, such as wrinkles, skin spots, and her age.

During her response, the 52-year-old also addressed rumors regarding her personal life, including her relationship with partner Angelo Madonia and criticisms concerning her finances and former husband, Paolo Bonolis.
