Sonic the Hedgehog to join Fortnite in upcoming Override season

Sonic the Hedgehog will join Fortnite as part of the upcoming Chapter 7 Season 4, titled ‘Override’. Gameplay footage released by the Sonic the Hedgehog social media account features a themed area based on the iconic Green Hill Zone.

The new season is expected to include collaborations with several classic video game franchises, such as Tetris, Kingdom Hearts, and Persona. Teaser footage suggests the inclusion of new movement mechanics, potentially granting players super speed similar to Sonic’s abilities.

Epic Games has also confirmed that the ‘Sprites’ mechanic from the current Runners season will continue into the next installment, with a new generation of Sprites arriving alongside a ‘Sprite Garden’ feature for players. The Override season is expected to launch on August 19.
