Sonipat police encounter Nandu Gang members over 2 crore extortion attempt

Police in Sonipat engaged in an encounter with members of the Nandu Gang following an extortion attempt. The incident occurred near village Harsana on National Highway 334B after the gang demanded a ransom of 2 crore rupees from a resident of Kharkhoda.

After the demand was made, the suspects reportedly fired shots at the victim's office in Khanda Road using a motorcycle without a license plate. The Special Anti Gangster Unit pursued the suspects, leading to a confrontation where the criminals opened fire on the police.

In the ensuing exchange, two suspects, identified as Ankit from Bhatana and Harsh from Lahrauda, sustained injuries and were apprehended. Authorities recovered three country-made pistols and the motorcycle used in the crime. The injured individuals were admitted to a government hospital in Kharkhoda while police continue their investigation.
