German coastal tourism: Cleanup efforts, Rügen lodging, and Föhr travel costs

Various developments and offerings are shaping tourism along the German coast. In Bremerhaven, the ‘Havenputz’ initiative, supported by Erlebnis Bremerhaven GmbH, invites tourists to participate in a maritime cleanup to promote regenerative tourism and protect the North Sea environment.

On the island of Rügen, accommodation options include the Reethaus Bernadette in Glowe, which offers pet-friendly stays with amenities like a Finnish sauna, and the aja Nordperd & Villen Göhren, which provides wellness packages including spa access and half-board meals within the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve. Additionally, the Deichhaus St. Barbara offers waterfront views for up to six people.

On the island of Föhr, travelers face various costs for a beach day, including ferry fees from Dagebüll, mandatory spa levies (Kurabgabe), and beach chair rentals. For a couple, basic costs can reach approximately 60 Euros during peak season, excluding meals.
