Sonora and Buenos Aires pursue regional economic and industrial integration
Authorities from Sonora, Mexico, and Arizona, United States, participated in the Arizona–Sonora Mega-Region Industrial Capabilities Mission in Nogales. The initiative, led by Governor Alfonso Durazo, aims to strengthen economic integration, leverage regional competitive advantages, and attract new investments to integrate both regions into global value chains.
In South America, Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof met with Uruguayan authorities to establish strategic agreements. A key outcome was a commercial agreement between Buenos Aires' agricultural sector and Montevideo's Metropolitan Agro-food Unit to coordinate logistics and standardize quality certification processes for food products. Additionally, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Scientific Research Commission of Buenos Aires and the University of the Republic of Uruguay to foster joint scientific innovation and technological development.
