Sonora celebrates International Youth Day with festivals and races

The Government of Sonora, through the Sonoran Institute of Youth (ISJ), organized several events in Hermosillo to commemorate International Youth Day.

The festivities included the Sonora Hip Hop Festival and Youth Bazaar at Plaza Bicentenario. The festival featured urban culture displays such as graffiti, freestyle battles, beatbox, breakdance, and rap performances. Additionally, the Youth Bazaar hosted over 100 entrepreneurs showcasing and selling various products and services.

Another major event, the fifth edition of the Carrera Vaquera, took place at the La Sauceda Urban Forest. Named in honor of 83-year-old runner Jesús Saldate, the race drew more than 3,500 participants. The event included 3km and 5km running categories, as well as a 3km family walk, aimed at promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles among youth and families.
