Sonora government launches housing directory for out‑of‑town university students

The government of Sonora has created an online directory of housing options to help students from other municipalities who attend the Universidad de la Sierra (Unisierra). The initiative expands the number of available homes, apartments and rooms for rent in Moctezuma, aiming to provide safe, dignified and affordable accommodation.

Rector Juan Carlos Avilés Miranda noted that for the third consecutive year the directory is publicly accessible through the university’s website, supporting students from places such as Mazatán, Rayón, San Luis Río Colorado and other towns in the Sierra and Río Sonora regions. Governor Alfonso Durazo highlighted the program as part of his broader effort to improve educational opportunities and retain students in the state.
