Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo Hosts Singapore Business Delegation

Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño welcomed a diplomatic and business mission from Singapore to Sonora. The delegation, led by Singapore’s chief of mission Jeff Khoo, met with more than 14 chambers and business associations under the coordination of the state’s Secretariat of Economy and Tourism. Discussions focused on potential investments in mining, advanced manufacturing, the automotive sector, clean‑energy projects and technology development, as well as the strategic role of the Port of Guaymas for international trade. Secretary Roberto Gradillas Pineda said the visit is part of a broader strategy that also includes recent missions from Spain and the European Union, and that follow‑up work tables will be set up to advance the identified opportunities.

The Sonora government highlighted its Sustainable Energy Plan and the Energy Cluster’s role in promoting renewable‑energy and tech initiatives, positioning the state as an attractive destination for foreign investment and economic development.
