Sonora launches series of cultural and tourism events in Hermosillo

The state of Sonora and the municipality of Hermosillo are hosting several cultural and tourism initiatives throughout October 2026.

The Sonora Film Festival will take place in Hermosillo from October 7 to 11, featuring international films, a Sonoran short film competition, workshops, and masterclasses. Key venues include the Cineteca Sonora and the Casa de la Cultura de Sonora.

In the La Sauceda Urban Forest, the Alboroque Folklore Festival will feature various dance groups, alongside new activities such as a cardboard Catrina workshop. Other scheduled events include environmental talks, bird watching, and mental health discussions.

Additionally, Hermosillo’s Tourist Trolleybus is resuming its themed tours, including “Lo que la gente cuenta” and “Leyendas de panteón,” as well as minibus visits to the Halloween House and Yáñez Memorial Forest. These activities are being coordinated through partnerships between the municipal government and the private sector.
