Morena's state coordination races heat up in Michoacán and Sonora
In Michoacán, a Polls.mx survey released on July 28 shows Carlos Torres Piña leading the Morena coordination race with 28.0 % of preferences, ahead of Raúl Morón (23.1 %). The state’s housing industry group, the Cámara Nacional de la Industria de Desarrollo y Promoción de Vivienda (Canadevi), publicly endorsed Gladyz Butanda Macías, praising her vision for large‑scale housing projects and continuity of the 4T transformation in the state.
In Sonora, candidate Javier Lamarque Cano announced that party “padrinos” will have no influence in the internal process and that Morena will conduct three surveys – one internal and two external – to decide the coordinator. He said he will resign his mayoral post in Cajeme if selected. Lamarque has been touring Hermosillo, meeting health, education, legal and engineering professionals, as well as local merchants and residents, to hear their concerns and gather proposals for Sonora families.
