Sonora regidores resign from Movimiento Ciudadano

Four regidores in Sonora have resigned from the Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) party. Some of these officials have announced their support for the “Sonora Con Todo” movement, which backs Hermosillo Mayor Antonio “Toño” Astiazarán in anticipation of the 2027 elections.

The departing officials include Adolfo Domínguez (Navojoa), Romeo Ernesto Porchas Serecer (La Colorada), Guillermo Ybarra Osuna (Villa Pesqueira), and Roberto Romero (Empalme). While some joined the new movement to support Astiazarán, others, such as Ybarra Osuna and Porchas Serecer, cited personal and political congruence as their reasons for leaving MC.

Additionally, Jesús Francisco Elías Soto announced his departure from the party, criticizing the incorporation of politicians linked to previous state administrations that he characterized as a negative period for Sonora.
