Sonora rolls out AYUDAR digital platform and earmarks 200 million pesos for family aid

The municipal government of Hermosillo, through the State Welfare Institute (DIF Hermosillo), launched the AYUDAR digital platform. The site lists more than 80 local civil associations and lets residents locate groups for donations of food, clothing, medicine, school supplies, furniture, or other items, as well as volunteer opportunities and professional‑service contributions. The platform aims to connect citizens with organisations that support vulnerable populations during the holiday period.

Separately, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño announced that the Sonora state government will invest 200 million pesos in 2026 for the Tarjeta de Oportunidades program, a cash‑transfer scheme for vulnerable families. Over 16,000 households in all 72 municipalities received a second bimonthly deposit of 2,500 pesos for the May‑June period, with further payments scheduled throughout the year. The program is intended to help families cover basic needs such as food, medication, transport and other essential expenses.
