Sonos and Viprof Electronics announce new audio amplification solutions

Sonos has launched the Amp Multi, a multichannel streaming amplifier designed for professional installers and large-scale, open-concept environments. The device features eight amplified outputs, each delivering 125 watts at 8 ohms, and can support up to four independent zones. It is capable of driving up to 24 Sonos Architectural speakers per unit. The hardware utilizes a GaN power architecture and Class-D post-filter feedback to ensure thermal efficiency and silent, fanless operation.

To assist with installation, the unit includes a flat-back design for rack mounting and an audible chirp feature to help technicians identify hardware via the Sonos app. The system also introduces ProTune, a manual sound optimization tool providing 10-band parametric EQ, gain adjustments, and delay offsets for acoustic calibration.

Separately, Viprof Electronics has introduced the VE0126 Up2Stream Audio Amplifier 2.1. This compact Class-D module is designed for OEM integration into embedded speaker systems, kiosks, or DIY audio equipment. It provides 50W per stereo channel and 100W for a dedicated subwoofer, supporting wireless connectivity through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, alongside protocols such as AirPlay, Spotify, and UPnP.
