Sonos launches Ace Ultra flagship headphones

Sonos has launched the Ace Ultra, a $449 flagship headphone designed to integrate more deeply with the company’s home audio ecosystem. Building on the original Ace model, the Ultra features improved sound quality through redesigned 40mm drivers and enhanced adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC).

A primary advancement is the “Headphone Linking” feature, currently in early access. This allows users to move audio between the headphones and compatible Sonos speakers or speaker groups using Wi-Fi rather than Bluetooth. This capability enables users to transfer music from the Sonos network—including sources like record players—to the headphones and back again.

The Ace Ultra maintains the understated design and comfortable fit of its predecessor, featuring spacious, magnetic, and removable ear cups. While the headphones offer improved performance, some features remain in early access, such as the Wi-Fi audio transfer, which may occasionally require manual adjustments via the Sonos app.
