Sonova launches Phonak EON AI-powered hearing aids

Sonova Holding AG has launched the Phonak EON RIC portfolio, a new generation of hearing aids utilizing third-generation proprietary real-time artificial intelligence. The portfolio includes three models: the EON Sphere, EON R, and CROS EON R.

Central to the new technology is the HYPERSONIC chip, which is reported to be 37 percent more energy-efficient, 25 percent smaller, and 20 percent lighter than previous versions. This hardware advancement aims to improve battery life and wearer comfort.

The AI integration is designed to filter speech from ambient noise. According to Sonova, the new devices make it twice as likely for users to understand speech compared to earlier systems, while reducing listening effort by 37 percent. The technology also features WindBlock 2.0 to mitigate wind noise.
