Sonu Sood expands humanitarian work with $34 million migrant‑worker initiative

Indian actor Sonu Sood, known for villain roles in Bollywood and South Indian cinema, has deepened his humanitarian efforts since the COVID‑19 pandemic. He founded the Suud Charity Foundation, which oversaw relief such as returning 90,000 migrant workers home, distributing over 300 oxygen concentrators and supporting more than 300 heart surgeries.

To address pandemic‑driven unemployment, Sood launched the "Pravasi Rozgaar" portal, aimed at linking ten crore (100 million) Indians with livelihood and upskilling opportunities. The platform attracted a $34 million investment from the Temasek‑backed Good Worker fund. Additional initiatives include free IAS coaching under the "Sambhavam" program and legal‑aid services through "Sankalp".

Sood’s transition from screen villain to real‑life advocate underscores his commitment to social welfare beyond his film career.
