Sony announces God of War: Laufey spin‑off focusing on Faye
Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled a new God of War title, Laufey, during a State of Play showcase. The game will temporarily shift the focus from series lead Kratos and Atreus to the late character Faye, exploring her story after death in a mysterious realm called Everywhen that links all magical origins.
Laufey is being developed for PlayStation 5 and combines the franchise’s signature combat intensity with expanded world‑building and narrative depth. Gameplay footage showed new abilities, including soul control, and introduced supporting characters such as Sekhmet, Begtse, and a cosmic cube named Phranque. Voice talent includes Deborah Ann Woll returning as Faye, with Jack Quaid and Perlina Lau joining the cast. No release date has been confirmed, but the game is positioned as a spin‑off rather than the next mainline entry, with Kratos expected to return in future installments.
