Sony announces Final Fantasy VII Revelation release date
Sony Interactive Entertainment held a dual State of Play broadcast event, featuring a regular presentation and a dedicated State of Play Japan session. The event showcased updates from PlayStation Studios and various third-party partners.
The primary highlight was the announcement of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. Square Enix confirmed the game is scheduled for release on April 8, 2027. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
New gameplay details revealed during the broadcast included the use of the Highwind airship for open-world exploration and the introduction of the Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear (FITS) system, which allows players to customize combat abilities through specialized uniforms. Square Enix also announced various editions, including a Collector’s Edition and a digital trilogy compilation.
