Phantom Blade Zero gameplay details revealed by S-GAME
S-GAME has revealed extensive gameplay details for its upcoming action RPG, Phantom Blade Zero, during a dedicated PlayStation State of Play presentation. The title, described as “Kungfupunk,” blends traditional martial arts with steampunk and dark fantasy elements. Set in the Wulin world, players control the protagonist, Soul, an elite assassin on a 66-day quest to clear his name.
Key gameplay features include a deep combat system with over 30 primary weapons and 25 secondary “Phantom Edges.” Players can customize builds using various accessories and a reforging mechanic that allows for resource reallocation. The game offers four difficulty levels, ranging from “Wayfarer” for story-focused players to “Hellwalker” and the highly demanding “Sixty-Six Days.”
Martial arts legend Donnie Yen is heavily involved in the project, serving as a creative consultant and providing motion capture and voice acting for the character Mó Yuan. The game features an interconnected world composed of eight distinct, hand-painted maps that allow for exploration and fast travel via bells. Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled for release on October 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Additionally, Hisense has announced a partnership to introduce a dedicated picture mode for its RGB-Mini LED televisions to enhance the game’s visual fidelity.
