Sony identified as highly reliable television brand for 2026

Sony is identified as one of the most reliable television brands for 2026, according to research by OfZen and Computing. Data derived from Consumer Reports and approximately 10,000 owner reports indicates that only about 3% of Sony models are expected to encounter issues within the first five years of ownership.

This reliability rate outperforms both budget brands and major competitors. While Samsung may be rated as a top choice for overall performance by Consumer Reports, it recorded an 8% problem rate in the OfZen data. LG follows Sony in reliability with a 5% problem rate.

In longevity testing conducted by RTings, which simulated 10 years of heavy usage, Sony models demonstrated high durability in both chassis and panels. Specifically, Sony’s direct-backlit LED, Mini-LED, and premium OLED models showed exceptional resilience compared to edge-lit models from other manufacturers.
