Sony Korea launches two lightweight super telephoto lenses
Sony Korea has launched two new super telephoto prime lenses for E-mount mirrorless cameras: the FE 400mm F4.5 GM OSS and the FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS.
By utilizing lightweight materials such as magnesium alloy and high-strength plastic, Sony has successfully reduced the weight of both lenses to under 1kg. The design shifts the center of gravity toward the camera body to improve stability during handheld shooting, tracking, or panning.
Both lenses feature two XD Linear Motors and optimized control algorithms to enhance autofocus performance. When paired with the Alpha 9 III, they support continuous AF/AE shooting at up to 120 frames per second. Additionally, the lenses can reach focal lengths of up to 800mm and 1200mm respectively when teleconverters are attached.
The FE 400mm F4.5 GM OSS is priced at 4,199,000 KRW, while the FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS is priced at 5,899,000 KRW.
