Sony launches 1000X THE COLLEXION premium headphones

Sony announced the 1000X THE COLLEXION, a new top‑tier over‑ear headphone that expands its award‑winning 1000X series. The launch marks the 10‑year anniversary of the line, which began with the MDR‑1000X in 2016. The model uses premium metal and synthetic leather, offers a wider, cushioned headband, and comes in platinum‑white or black finishes.

Sony worked with Grammy‑winning mastering engineers to fine‑tune the sound, and equipped the headphones with its first DSEE Ultimate AI upscaler and three 360 Upmix modes to deliver immersive spatial audio. A custom carbon‑composite driver provides clearer separation of instruments and vocals. Sony also revealed a new "Sandstone" colour option for its popular WH‑1000XM6 model.
