Sony launches RX10 V superzoom camera in India

Sony India has launched the RX10 V, the fifth-generation model in its RX10 series of all-in-one bridge cameras. Designed for hobbyists and enthusiasts, the camera is aimed at wildlife and sports photography, offering a wide zoom range in a single body to eliminate the need for lens changes.

The device features a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T 24-600mm F2.4-4.0 lens, providing 25x optical zoom. It is equipped with a 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with approximately 20.1 effective megapixels and a BIONZ XR image processing engine. Key technical upgrades include AI-powered Real-time Recognition autofocus and high-speed, blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 fps.

For video capabilities, the RX10 V supports 4K 120p recording. The camera also includes a large Quad-VGA OLED electronic viewfinder and utilizes the NP-FZ100 rechargeable battery, which Sony claims offers a 50% improvement in shot count over previous models, allowing for approximately 630 shots.
