Sony may raise PlayStation Plus subscription price again
Sony Interactive Entertainment executives discussed the possibility of another PlayStation Plus price increase. The subscription saw a 43 % hike in May 2026 and now generates record profitability for FY 2025, with higher‑tier plans accounting for about 40 % of subscribers. In a recent Q&A session, Hideaki Nishino, Herman Hulst and Lynn Azar said the company is weighing pricing, tier mix and content costs, especially as margins face pressure from cloud‑gaming expenses. No official decision or timeline has been announced yet.
The discussion comes amid recent price changes across major console services and growing gamer discontent, but Sony has not confirmed any forthcoming change.
