Sony Music Entertainment to end VTuber project VEE
Sony Music Entertainment has announced the termination of its VTuber project, VEE, effective September 30, 2026. The company stated that it determined maintaining the current management structure was not a sustainable business model. Sony Music took responsibility for the failure to establish a functional system, noting it was not the fault of the talents.
Of the project's members, 20 talents will continue their activities, either independently or by moving to new agencies. These individuals will generally retain their current stage names, characters, and social media accounts. One talent, Hina Hoshi Airu, will end her activities, with a graduation stream scheduled for September 16.
Additional project components are also being wound down. The fan community VEELLAGE will cease operations on September 30, 2026, and the official shop will end sales on November 30, 2026. Furthermore, the development of the game ‘Gun Girl Go’ has been officially cancelled.
