Sony Pictures acquires live-action rights to Brett Bean’s D’Orc

Sony Pictures has secured the rights to adapt the comic book series D’Orc into a live-action feature film. Brett Bean, the creator of the series and an artist known for his work on Marvel projects and the graphic novel Dungeon Crawler Carl, is attached to write the cinematic adaptation.

Published by Image Comics, D’Orc is a dark comedy fantasy set in a world of eternal conflict between light and darkness. The story follows a protagonist who is half-orc and half-dwarf, a character central to a prophecy regarding the end of the world. Despite the looming doomsday, the character seeks to avoid violence while traveling with companions, including a sentient shield and a ghost.

The comic series has seen significant commercial success since its debut earlier this year, reaching its eighth printing. While the film project has been confirmed, specific details regarding the plot, cast, and production crew have not yet been announced.
