Sony Pictures negotiates Battlefield film adaptation
Sony Pictures is reportedly in advanced negotiations to produce a film based on Electronic Arts’ Battlefield franchise. The studio has emerged as the frontrunner in a competitive bidding process that included Netflix, Universal, Amazon MGM Studios, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Christopher McQuarrie, known for his work on the ‘Mission: Impossible’ series, is in talks to write, direct, and produce the project. Michael B. Jordan is also expected to be involved as a producer through his company, Outlier Society, though it is unconfirmed if he will appear in the film.
This potential adaptation follows Sony’s recent involvement with other major gaming properties, such as ‘The Legend of Zelda’. While the deal is considered highly likely, official confirmation from Sony or Electronic Arts has not yet been released.
