Sony Pictures plans simultaneous release of four Beatles films in 2028

Sony Pictures and director Sam Mendes are considering an unconventional release strategy for four biographical films about The Beatles, tentatively planned for April 2028. The project, titled ‘The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event’, aims to tell the individual stories of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

Producer Pippa Harris indicated during the London Film Festival that the studio is evaluating a simultaneous release of all four films. To ensure each production receives equal attention and to avoid direct commercial comparisons, the studio may present combined box office results rather than individual totals. Other proposed strategies include offering special ticket packages for audiences to view the films in succession.

The cast features Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.
