Sony Pictures Television renews “Seinfeld” deals with Netflix and Paramount

Sony Pictures Television has renewed licensing agreements for the comedy series “Seinfeld” with both Netflix and Paramount.

Under a new five-year pact, Netflix will retain exclusive subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) rights for the 180-episode series in the United States and Canada. While previous terms reportedly involved a US$500 million global deal, the specific financial details of this renewal remain undisclosed.

Paramount has also secured a three-year extension for exclusive basic cable rights in the United States. This allows the series to continue airing on networks such as Comedy Central and TV Land.

Data from Nielsen indicates the show's enduring popularity, noting that nearly 60 million Americans, approximately 20% of the population, watched the series during the first half of 2026. On Comedy Central, it remains the most-watched acquired off-network series.
