Sony plans to expand dynamic pricing on PlayStation Store

Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking to expand its use of personalized pricing and targeted offers within the PlayStation Store. Recent job listings for a Senior Director of Digital Games Monetization explicitly mention the development of ‘Intelligent Pricing’ and ‘Targeted Offers’ as key responsibilities.

Reports indicate that Sony has been experimenting with different prices for various users since at least November 2025. While initial tests reportedly involved approximately 50 games across 30 regions, the scope has grown to include over 190 titles in more than 70 regions. For instance, price comparison data has shown instances where certain users were offered different prices for the same title, such as Helldivers 2.

Sony aims to utilize data, automation, and artificial intelligence to optimize commercial performance, increase conversion rates, and enhance the economic value of each customer. The company intends to use behavioral data, segmentation, and personalized recommendations to drive these strategies. Sony has not confirmed if ‘Intelligent Pricing’ refers specifically to the system responsible for the previously observed price discrepancies.
