Sony PlayStation history and Rhapsody II re-release

The history of Sony’s entry into the video game market is rooted in a failed partnership with Nintendo. Following a breakdown in negotiations regarding a CD-ROM add-on for the SNES, Sony engineer Ken Kutaragi spearheaded the development of the original PlayStation, which launched in Japan on December 3, 1994.

In recent gaming news, the musical RPG Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess, originally released for the PlayStation in 1999 by Nippon Ichi Software, is receiving a modern re-release. The title, which follows the character Kururu on a musical adventure, is being made available on modern consoles through a direct port with minor improvements, though Western players may face certain limitations.
