Sony reportedly reviving Ape Escape via Evening Star studio
Reports suggest that Sony Interactive Entertainment may be reviving the classic PlayStation franchise ‘Ape Escape’ through an external developer. According to journalist Jeff Gerstmann and reports from VGC, the Tokyo-based studio Evening Star—founded by developers of ‘Sonic Mania’—is reportedly working on the project.
While fans had speculated that Team Asobi might lead the revival, current information points toward Evening Star instead. Although the project was reportedly in its early stages earlier this year, it is not expected to be announced or released in the immediate future.
Additionally, Sony is reportedly looking to revive other dormant brands using third-party studios. This strategy may include the ‘Killzone’ series, with reports indicating that a remake or remaster could be in the early stages of development in collaboration with Guerrilla Games.
