Sony says God of War Laufey will stay PlayStation exclusive, unlikely to launch on PC

God of War Laufey was unveiled during a PlayStation State of Play event in June 2026. The game shifts focus from Kratos to his wife Faye (also known as Laufey), who awakens in the afterlife realm called the Everywhen and must protect Kratos and Atreus. Early footage shows encounters with deities from multiple mythologies and new companions such as the gelatinous cube Phranque and an enchanted ribbon named Rue.

Leaks suggest the title may also feature Tyr as a second playable character, offering a parallel perspective in the living world. The announcement arrived as Sony announced a change in its first‑party single‑player release strategy, moving toward console‑only exclusives. Because of that shift, a PC version of God of War Laufey is considered unlikely at launch, though the policy could change if console sales underperform.
