Sony launches FE 8-14mm F3.5 G fisheye zoom lens
Sony has introduced the FE 8-14mm F3.5 G, its first native fisheye zoom lens designed for full-frame Alpha E-mount cameras. The lens offers a versatile zoom range that transitions between circular fisheye imagery at 8mm (providing a 180-degree field of view) and diagonal fisheye imagery at 14mm (also providing a 180-degree diagonal field of view).
Designed for landscape, architecture, sports, and video production, the lens features a compact and lightweight build, weighing approximately 314 grams. It includes ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and aspherical elements to minimize chromatic and geometric aberrations. The lens also supports spatial content production when used with the VENICE Extension System Mini1.
In addition to the fisheye zoom, leaked pricing and details suggest Sony is also preparing to launch new telephoto prime lenses, specifically the FE 400mm f/4.5 GM OSS and the FE 600mm f/6.3 GM OSS.
