Sony to release 6-inch ELF-MN1 spatial reproduction display

Sony will release the ELF-MN1, a compact 6-inch spatial reproduction display, on December 11. Part of the company’s XYN spatial content solution group, the device allows users to view 3D content, such as avatars and characters, in three dimensions without the need for special glasses or headsets.

The display features a high-definition 1,080 x 2,160 pixel resolution with a pixel density of 403ppi. It utilizes proprietary technology to generate real-time 3D images based on the viewer's eye position. To improve accuracy in dark environments, Sony has added an IR sensor to its existing eye-tracking technology.

The ELF-MN1 connects to Windows PCs, iOS, and Android devices via USB-C. It is compatible with Gugenka’s ‘HoloModel’ digital figure service, enabling the viewing of official anime characters. The device includes a 1W stereo speaker and a microphone, and it comes with an acrylic stand designed to blend the screen seamlessly with desk surfaces. The estimated market price is approximately 54,000 yen.
