Sony unveils God of War : Laufey gameplay at State of Play

Sony’s June State of Play livestream showcased two major game announcements. The headline reveal was God of War : Laufey, a new entry in the franchise that follows the goddess‑warrior Faye (Laufey) after her death. The presentation included more than 20 minutes of gameplay, showing Faye navigating the otherworldly realm of Everywhen, confronting mythic foes with Maya‑ and Egyptian‑styled magic, and teaming with newcomers Phranque and Rue. The video hinted at the series’ new combat system and storyline focused on the afterlife of gods.

The event also confirmed the release date for Marvel’s Wolverine, an Insomniac Games single‑player title starring Logan, scheduled for 15 September. Additional announcements included a sequel to Until Dawn, new classic titles for PlayStation Plus, and other upcoming releases.
