Sony unveils Marvel's Wolverine and new God of War title at State of Play

During the State of Play showcase at Summer Game Fest, Sony announced a slate of upcoming PlayStation 5 and PC titles. The headline reveal was Marvel's Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games, slated for release on PS5 and PS5 Pro on September 15, with pre‑orders now available. The trailer depicts Logan joining forces with Jean Grey against the cyber‑enhanced Reavers hired by industrialist Bolivar Trask.

Other announcements included Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a 4‑v‑4 fighting game featuring Marvel heroes and villains that will launch on PS5 and PC on August 6 2026, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a reimagined version of the original Lara Croft adventure. Sony also confirmed a new entry in the God of War franchise titled Laufey, alongside additional titles such as Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Ace Combat 8: Wings of the Veil.
