Sony's Canceled Sinister Six Film Concept Art Shows Savage Land

Concept artwork for Sony's abandoned Sinister Six movie has been released, depicting Spider‑Man falling toward Marvel’s Savage Land. The images, shared on Instagram by artist Victor Martinez, also show missiles and a prehistoric island setting that was intended for the film’s plot.

The project, planned in the mid‑2010s as part of Sony’s own Spider‑Man universe, was to be directed by Drew Goddard and considered a villain‑focused ensemble featuring characters such as the Sinister Six, with potential casting of actors like Daniel Craig and Matthew McConaughey. Development halted after Sony’s 2014 hack and the subsequent partnership with Marvel Studios that launched a new Spider‑Man franchise starring Tom Holland, leading to the film’s cancellation.

The Instagram post also credits costume designer Constantine Sekeris and production designer Martin Whist for their work on the unmade film.
