Sooke Music Festival marks 11th year at Fred Milne Park
The Sooke Music Festival concluded its 11th year on Saturday, August 8, at Fred Milne Park. The final day of the event featured a free day of music and family-oriented activities, including games and bounce castles.
Featured performers included Australian singer-songwriter Kim Churchill, attracting attendees from Vancouver and Pender Island. Festival founder Peter Jonassen noted that the event, which began in 2016, attracts approximately 1,000 people during a full festival day.
Jonassen stated that the festival maintains a modest growth rate of roughly 5 to 10 percent annually to avoid rapid expansion's financial pressures.
