Sooke woman details decade of harassment after perpetrator's conviction
Nerissa Wick, a resident of Sooke, has spoken publicly about a decade-long harassment ordeal following the conviction of Cole Jeffrey Petrie. Wick stated the harassment began around 2017, initially involving silent, late-night calls from unknown numbers.
Over time, the behavior escalated to include sexually explicit conversations, threatening messages, and persistent contact across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp. Wick reported that the perpetrator used fake accounts to bypass blocks and threatened to post intimate images of her.
Wick discovered she was not alone after forming a private Facebook group for women experiencing similar harassment, which grew to at least 35 members. The perpetrator was eventually identified after Wick received a call from an unblocked number, which she documented and shared with contacts, leading to the identification of Petrie.
