Sookmyung Women's University to showcase STEM research at US UKC 2026 conference

Sookmyung Women's University will attend the 2026 U.S.–Korea Scientists' Conference (UKC 2026) in Orlando, Florida from August 5‑8. The participation is part of the university’s 120th‑anniversary activities and aims to present its science and engineering capabilities, strengthen U.S.–Korea research ties and attract leading scholars.

University President Moon Si‑yeon will join senior faculty, including research directors and engineering professors, at the conference. On August 7 the university will host a forum titled “Sookmyung 120 years, Future Research Vision,” focusing on women‑engineer education, joint pharmaceutical and women‑health research, and AI‑driven university innovation. A separate panel at the “University Leadership Forum” will address AI’s impact on education and administration.

Through these events Sookmyung seeks to expand its global R&D network, forge collaborations with U.S. institutions and Korean‑American scientific societies, and promote the development of the next generation of women scientists.
