SOPHiA GENETICS partners with AstraZeneca on companion diagnostics and reports 27% Q2 revenue growth

SOPHiA GENETICS announced a multi‑year global collaboration with AstraZeneca to develop and commercialise two companion diagnostics for precision oncology therapies – one for solid tumours and another for haematological cancers. The partnership aims to enable any laboratory worldwide to run the same high‑standard tests at launch, shortening the time from therapy approval to patient treatment.

In its second‑quarter earnings call, SOPHiA GENETICS reported revenue of $23.3 million, a 27% year‑over‑year increase, and raised its full‑year outlook. U.S. revenue rose 64% and volume grew 60%, driven by expanding in‑house genomic testing at hospitals and labs. The company added new customers in Belgium, Italy and Oman, and signed a collaboration with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to develop a paediatric liquid‑biopsy test. Overall, liquid‑biopsy revenue grew 80% and the platform processed a record 115,000 patient analyses.
