Sophie Adenot's ISS return postponed due to weather

NASA has postponed the return of the Crew-12 mission from the International Space Station (ISS) due to unfavorable weather and sea conditions off the coast of California. The undocking, originally planned for Monday, is now tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, October 7.

French astronaut Sophie Adenot, who has been in orbit for nearly eight months, is part of the crew. Adenot recently set a record as the European astronaut with the longest space mission, surpassing 230 days in orbit. The crew also includes Americans Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, and Russian Andrey Fedyaev.

If the revised timeline is maintained, the crew is expected to splash down in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday. Following their return, they will be repatriated to Houston, Texas, before Adenot is assisted by the European Space Agency (ESA) in Cologne, Germany.
