Sophie Cunningham discusses WNBA officiating and college homecoming

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has raised questions regarding WNBA officiating standards following a recent series-clinching game between the Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty. Speaking on her ‘No Hesitation’ podcast, Cunningham addressed an incident where Angel Reese confronted Sabrina Ionescu after an offensive foul. While Cunningham expressed support for players defending their teammates, she questioned why Reese was not assessed a technical foul for following Ionescu down the court, noting that a separate verbal exchange between Reese and Jonquel Jones resulted in technical fouls for both players.

Outside of professional play, Cunningham recently visited her alma mater, the University of Missouri. The veteran guard and her sister, Lindsey Cunningham Hudson, met with the Mizzou women’s basketball team, a visit documented by the university’s official social media accounts. Cunningham, who holds the school record with 2,187 career points, reaffirmed her support for the Tigers program during the visit.
