Sophie Marceau addresses Patrick Bruel legal case

French actress Sophie Marceau has spoken out regarding the ongoing legal investigation involving singer and actor Patrick Bruel. Bruel, who was placed under formal investigation in June, faces allegations of rape and sexual assault from approximately thirty women. While he maintains his innocence and contests the accusations, Marceau has stated that “these women must be heard” by the justice system.

Marceau, who has not spoken to Bruel since filming the 2014 comedy “Tu veux ou tu veux pas,” addressed recent resurfacing of promotional interviews from that period. In those clips, Bruel had joked about the difficulty of “resisting” Marceau on set. Marceau clarified that if she had found his behavior inappropriate at the time, she would have addressed it immediately, noting, “If I had had something to say, I would have said it.”
