Sophie Marceau stars in new film Il tempo di Anne

The film ‘Il tempo di Anne’, directed by Lisa Azuelos and starring Sophie Marceau, explores themes of aging, desire, and evolving family dynamics. The story follows Anne, a 55-year-old woman who begins to experience a newfound sense of independence as her children become adults. However, this period of quiet is interrupted when her daughter, Louise, returns home following a failed startup and a breakup, and her son, Théo, announces he is becoming a father.

In recent interviews regarding the film, Marceau reflected on the challenges facing the younger generation, noting that increased access to information often leads to higher levels of anxiety and guilt. Marceau also looked back on her early career following her breakout role in ‘Il tempo delle mele’, describing her sudden rise to fame as a difficult period where she felt unprepared for the intense public scrutiny.
